The World Language Department currently offers five languages:  Spanish, French, Italian, German, and Latin.  We are dedicated to opening up the world's cultures and its languages to all FHS students.   We focus on developing the students' foreign language skills in all areas of  'the 5 C s':

Communication

learning to speak effectively in the target language in a variety of real-life situations.

Culture

exploring new cultures and how they relate to our own reality and to each other...

Community

understanding and interacting in the different cultures and languages of our diverse school community.

Comparisons

exploring relationships between cultures, and how they influence and change language.

Connections

Making connections between foreign language, culture, and our own lives.
